Preparations

- In order to play Nethunt, you have to download Eiffel Studio form the official webpage.

- Download the 2 Eiffel programms "Nethunt" and "Nethunt_Server" and place them in the folder of your choice. Edit the .ace files with a common text editor to make sure, the programm has access to all needed files in the Eiffel library and its own class files. The library is found in the directory ''Your Eiffel directory''/library

- Once all .ace files are configures properly, start Eiffel Studio twice, open an existing .ace file and select both of your programms "Nethunt" and "Nethunt_Server". Eiffel will then compile those projects which can take a few seconds. Once the project has been successfully compiled, you may open the programms via double-clicking the new .epr files in your folders.

- You will notice a new, DOS-like window (don't you feel very nostalgic just now?), welcoming you to the server configuration. It asks you to enter the number for the port it will be going to use to open a new game. The range of valid ports are 1 to 65535. If you encounter problems with the port number of your choice, it might already be in use by some other programm running.

- A new window will open, asking you to choose between Estate Agent and Flat Hunter. In either case you then have to enter the IP of the server you want to connect to along with the port number chosen by the host.

- Once both players are connected, the game will start. Notice that whenever a player success fully connected to the server, the DOS-window will confirm it. If it didn't, you may have entered the wrong IP or port number.

So me and my friend are now connected to that server. What now?

- As soon as both players are connected, the game will start and you may play FlatHunt in "Versus" mode. For a detailed description on how to play FlatHunt, check out the FlatHunt Guide.

For additional information about the implemented classes in Nethunt and Nethunt_Server read the developer guide for Net hunt.
